Slow system on P4 after SP1 install

Hi,


I have installed SP1 on Windows XP Pro and the PC has got
really slow. I understand there is a problem with SP1 and
P4's but I cant find the patch to fix this.

Can anybody show me where to donwload this from?

Hello!
As you know the service pack provides the fixes as well as
securities.Thus you may get a little slow speed due to
security.
But what about your server?
Also check for Trojans which really slow the speed.

I have never heard that one - and neither has my P4. I would check in
the BIOS setup, and see if something has turned level 2 caching off.
(turning off level one as well is guaranteed to make any Pentium behave
like a 386)
