This has been a problem for some time now. When I start
the computer, I get to the point where my desktop is
loaded and visible. It appears to be ready to work right
away, but yet it's not. There is a delay of about 30
seconds or so then my antivirus software starts. Until
everything that has been told to start during startup has
actually started, my computer is useless. It just sits
there making you wait. Any suggestions to get rid of the
delay???

run the event viewer (under administrative tools) and find which service is
failing to start and disable it

How do you find which event is failing to start? How do you clear the logs?
When I hit the clear the log button it asks if I want to save the
appliction-what do I do? Should I change the log size from 512KB?
