slow startup

Hi there,

My computer was running pretty slow so I cleared out
Temporary Internet Files, ran defrag, ran antivirus,
checked for parasites, ran adaware and checked msconfig
as well. Now my computer is extremely slow starting up.
I'm not sure what programs are what in msconfig - did I
mess something up? Help!!

everyone seems to be having the same problem seems to have something to do with hotfix (sp2) Q811493
 
When you downloaded the patch seems to be an issue.

The two patches Q815021 and Q811493 are different patches addressing
different security concerns with Microsoft's software. The ONLY
similarity is that they were BOTH released to the general public in a
"Revised" form on 28th May 2003.
Initially both had perforamnce issues but were re-worked.

Both revised patches are said to work
