i have dsl. when my system boots up it takes about 15 sec. or so before I can
actually get on the net; also it seems that i get a scroll that "pop blocked,
click to temp allow pop up", i never used to get this all the time. what
could be the problem. thanks in advance.

1-Do you have any antyspyware software installed in your computer? if you
don't have you must install a least one. Here s the link for two good
protection

2-Check your antivirus or firewall. for example Norton slow your system for
about 4-6 seconds, before going to another aplication. I tested AVG and I
like the way how it works without taking a lot of your computer, and is free

3-Check for startup process: some software companies install in your
startup. You need to eliminated those you don't need. go to run command and
type msconfig
go to startup and uncheck those that you don't want.

4-If you are using MSN mesanger go to tools-options-general- and uncheck the
box related with start automatic.

5- Defragmentation, will help to organize the files in your hard drive
