My coomputer suddenly being extremely slow to start. It takes 5/6 minutes to
boot. I have 1 GB ram and the sytem takes ages to pull up pictures from a CD.
In many cases it will not pick-up the files - just idle. I just came back
from a month long trip to Europe and I have seen the pictures in the TV and
now I am trying to dwonload the files to my computer and I will not even see
the files in the Explorer. None of the Photo shoftwares will pick-up the
files.
I am running MacAfee and Microsoft Defender. Both System say - the computer
is clean.
Any suggestion of what I should do to pull up the files and speed -up the
Booting and the opening of the softwares and files?

An early response will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

First thing to check is the Application & System Event Log(s) and
check for Red Icons that denote Errors.
Click Start, Run (Type) EventVwr.Msc [Enter]

N E V E R assume that any combination of Security Software is
adequate. Best to run an alternate vendor's on-line scans to check
for both Spyware & Viruses. I would visit TrendMicro's website
and run both of their free on-line scanners.
