slow start from cont-alt-del

i have a workstation that hangs on cont-alt-del screen
before proceding on to the log on screen. after that thing
seem to work fine. hangs can last as long as 4 or five
minutes. anyone got any ideas on what could be doing this?

Check your dns settings - perhaps the workstation is looking for
network settings that don't exist or are wrong.
