Slow Shut Down

Since re-installing SP2, my computer (Compaq Presario desktop) is taking
about 2 minutes to shut down. Before I had to do a System Recovery, it shut
down in a timely fashion (I had SP2), but since the Recovery, which put me
back in SP1, and the re-install of SP2, the Shut Down is slow.
 
Nevermind! I implemented a fix to get back my Windows Update and it also
fixed my slow Shut Down. System now shuts down in 10-15 seconds.

Brought down two birds with one stone? Always nice to get an added bonus
when working your way through a problem, isn't it?
