Have just re-installed XP Home edition following problems with internet
explorer and have noticed that scrolling with the mouse (Microsoft one) is a
lot slower than before. Can anyone help please?

Hi I have a solution for your problem.

Go to start menu and go to settings and control panel and open up mouse and
go to the pointer options tab and there you can set the speed of the movement
of the mouse. Also go to windows update to see if they got a driver there for
your video card if not see about updating your video card drivers too and
doing a full windows update downloads. Ok Thanks

Reply back and let me know how it goes. Don't forget to select yes if this

Thanks Matthew that has speeded a bit, you missed a step out i.e. click
on"Printers and other options" then on mouse but that was no problem, I also
changed the scrolling settings on the wheel.
As regards thee video how do I find out what card I have also do you e-mail
the windows update people? I am registered for automatic updates but when I
re-installed would they have sent down all the updates I previously
downloaded over 3 years?

Thanks again for your help, I have responded to say this was helpful.

No when you reinstall windows it erases you have to go to start and click on
windows update and let it search and download all the available updates. Also
for the video drivers I would like for you to download this program called
Belarc.

http://www.belarc.com/Programs/advisor.exe

Download this and install it and when it's finished installing a internet
explorer window is going to open and display results. I need you to copy and
paste in a reply here what is listed on that page only under Main Circuit
Board and Display. The n I will let you know what you need for drivers for
your video ok thanks.

Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software, Inc. ASUS A7A266-E ACPI BIOS Revision 1011 03/01/2002

By the way, I found in the original packet something called Winfox whcih was
supplied with the computer and I've never used do you know if its any good?

be of use (forgive my ignorance!)
