Slow saving & SP4

We have 12 Notebooks which we have updated to SP4. Since the update Word 97
is extremely slow to save. I've posted this here because whenever the
offline files option is disabled there isn't a problem.

The users do use this option but are unable to at the moment.

Any ideas what to try. I've reinitialised, deleted and readded the files and
reinstalled Office 97..

We actually use Sophos and the users are saving to an NT4 server. The
problem started straight after we service packed!
