Slow Response

Only after starting my computer, programs such as Word, Excel, Mailwasher
and Explorer the response time for prorams to materialise is some times more
that 60sec. I have tried several "Tune Up" programs such as RegCure, Ashampoo
WinOptimiser, and Windows live OneCare. None seem to make any difference.

Can some one help

Download and run Process Explorer and see what processes are using CPU
cycles.

From there, you will have a much better idea of what it is that's slowing
the system down. Some of the things that are running, like Windows
Automatic Update, are otherwise invisible to you and can seriously bog the
system down for up to 10 - 20 minutes after startup.

Have you tried booting into safe mode to see if the performance is still bad?
If not try that and if it seems to load up pretty fast or "normal" speed for
you then its probably just too many things loading on startup. Check whats
starting up when you start Windows. You can do that by going to
Start->Run->Type "msconfig" and then go to the startup tab. If you see
anything out of the ordinary that is probably your problem.
