In Windows Explorer, if I right-click and choose New on the context menus,
the Explorer goes into "not responding" for about 2 minutes. This problem is
very prevalent in Windows XP and is specific to particular computers. I am
managing 70+ computers on the network and find this very irritating. I
believe there is a way to solve this but so far I haven't come across any
solution. I think there are many other people experiencing the same problem.

Anyone has clue to resolve the problem?

This is normally caused when a third-party program puts an entry into
the right-click context menu. It also can be caused by codecs. An easy
way to troubleshoot is with the free ShellExView program. Here are
links to help you troubleshoot and a link to download ShellExView:

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers -

Right-click is extremely slow only when Network is enabled -

Right click causes an error and crashes Explorer.exe after installing
