Slow Performance

I am having a problem with the performance of my Outlook 2002. When I click
on an email message, it take quite a while (a 20 seconds) to load the
contents into the viewer (or into a window of its own if I double click). I
am not connecting to an Exchange Server, so all my messages are being stored
in my .pst file, although I do archive periodically. I am not using IM.
Also, I have a DSL connection. Any ideas?

Thanks.

What's the size of our PST?

My PST is 5,696 KB.

I asked because PSTs approaching 1G can slow thing down. Obviously not your
problem. I don't have any suggestions, other than delays in the connection
between your PC and the server. Sorry.

Brian:

Thanks for trying. I don't think it can be the server because it is
happening with email that is already downloaded from the server. That is,
when I click on an email, it takes some time before the text of the email can
be read either in the viewer or in a separate window.
