Hi Everyone,
Recently my XP home edition computer has gotten very slow. I did the
virus check, adaware, etc. Nothing helps.

I opened task manager - Processes and sorted on CPU. Idle services are
at 97-98 %, but the CPU usage at the bottom of the page say 30-60%.
Why is that CPU usage so high? when there are no processes that are
listed as using CPU? Is there something else to check?

Thanks
Ed

Thanks for reply.

I did look at the processes and noticed spoolsv.exe running every few
seconds. I read on the internet that this is a print spooler and if
there is a stopped print job it can eat up the CPU. I checked, and
there were several jobs. I deleted them and the CPU dropped to 0-2%.

Thanks for the help.
