Windows XP requires more installed memory. I would use 256 meg as a minimum.
All of my computers are running XP with 512 meg or 1 gig installed and run
very smooth and fast.

Hi

Got a Pentium 800 with 128 mB RAM.
Used Win 98 SE until recently. When using W98 my PC was working relatively
fast.

After innstallingXP it run much slower
My question is;
Is my PC wreck or is XP really using so much more system resources than
W98??

Thanx
FC

I agree. You will need more memory. I run 256 MB and after boot I have
105 MB free. That would put you at minus 23. After I open Outlook
Express and Internet Explorer I am down to the 80s. Sometimes it gets
as low as 40-50. And I don't run memory intensive tasks, like games,
image editing, etc. I do have my page file minimized, so I use a
little more memory than average. My cache files are a little larger
than default, as well.
