Hello,
Comcast in my area is running at 6600kb down and 350 up but in speed checks
to speakeasy my speed is consistent at 1700 down. I had a Comcast service
tech out and her laptop got 6600 down to Speakeasy. I have an ASUS mother
board with two onboard nics one a 10/100 the other a Gigabit I get the same
1700 with either card. Thinking it might be hardware related I purchased a
10/100 PCI nic and it also is limited to 1700. this pointed me back at
software. Tried a clean boot, shut off all services including MS services
except for dhcp and dns and I’m still at 1700. Anybody have any ideas? Is
this an XP problem or is my mother board bad?
