I have w3k server standard edition with Active Directory
installed. From a Xp i copy files on a map network drive
and it's very slow.
MAP DRIVE=L:\Shared folder
When i copy directly to the shared folder not to a map
drive it's at least 10 times faster
\\server\Shared folder

I have searched everywhere on the web and can't find a
solution.

What could be the cause for this.

Thanks for the help

You have to edit two keys (RequireSecuritySignature / EnableSecuritySignature) in the registry.

After i set the keys to 0, the copyjob to a map drive is fast.

The only problem i have is, that when the server is switched off for a few ours, the keys in the registry are set again to the value 1 !!! If you find a solution for this, please give me a note!!

Thank you very much M. Schmitz it solved my problem, i
have searched for articles concerning the reset of this
key but haven't found it, but will be keeping a eye for it.
Thanks Again.
