Hi

Does anyone know why XP hangs at "Loading you personal settings" after
adding the computer to a domain. Local logon is fine and quick but adding
the machine to any domain brings it to a grinding halt, 4 to 5 minutes
waiting to logon.

SP2 and updates hasn't helped

Thanks

make sure your dns on the machine is configured to your local dns server.

Ensure that you have good DNS name resolution in your environment.
All Windows XP clients should point to an internal DNS server that is
authoritative for the domain.

If that is OK, then you might want to enable UserEnv logging
and take a network trace to see where the delay is:

domain controllers run Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a (SP6a) or later.
