I have recently encountered this same problem on my office pc utilizing a T1
connection. Am running WinXP/Office 2003 on a P4 2.8 w/512K, all latest SP &
patches up to date, & behind a corporate firewall. No malware, spyware or
virus software issues. No recent hardware changes and everything worked
great with the same configuration for months prior to two weeks ago.
Troubleshooting has brought me to the conclusion that this is specifically
an html problem (also evident in IE6) which disappears in Outlook if html
email is turned off. Currently Outlook hangs until the html loads, then
works fine until it encounters another html page - in the preview pane or any
folder. IE6 delays the loading of each page in every open window. Any
ideas, suggestions or solutions would be most appreciated.
