My Windows Fax Console seems to transmit and receive very slowly
compared to Symantec WinFax. From a regular fax machine to MSWindows
Fax Console, one page took :45; but when it was faxed to Symantec
WinFax running on the same computer, it took just :24. The same issue
comes up when transmitting--Symantec WinFax is about twice as fast.
However I need to use Windows Fax Console because it automatically
stores in .tiff format and I have a plug-in that will email faxes to
me in that format. Symantec WinFax was fine except it couldn't
automatically email faxes in .tiff format. Does anybody know why the
Windows Fax Console transmits and receives so much slower? The fax
resolution for both programs was set to "fine." Somebody in another
post suggested removing a registry key and editing another, but when I
searched my registry, I couldn't find any key like that.
