I have had my PC for 18months now and it has work very well. When the PC boots up, before the blue login screen, a windows logo page appears with a green loading bar. This page used to be displayed for approx 15 seconds whist the green loading bar flashed 4 times
The computer now takes almost 10 minutes to boot up, with the PC hanging on the windows logo page and the green loading bar flashing

I keep windows XP (home edition) updated; I have a firewall and up-to-date virus checker. I have restored the PC to a setup before the problem with out any change to the problem. What should I do next

You need to perform a clean boot, using msconfig, and later enable the
programs one by one to determine which one is causing the slowness.
