I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 with Windows XP Pro. I recently updated to SP2,
and now my boot time is 3-4 minutes, compared to 30-45 sec before the update.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not sure if this is a Microsoft prolem
or a Dell problem. I am really considering uninstalling SP2 to see if that
was the cause of my problem. Is there a way to see what is taking so long to
load during boot-up, so I can tell where my true problem lies? Thank you for
any help.

This is the response I got from Dell when I asked them to help me with the
SP2 problems on my Inspiron 5100 (network cards won't work):

"At this moment WindowsXP Service Pack2 is not tested and validated on Dell
systems and we do not recommend it as of now. I will suggest you to please
unistall Windows SP2"
