Please can someone help me!!!

Im using W2k Pro.

I installed the spk4 and 3 updates 2 nights ago.
My machine now is extremely slow. Looking at the Task
Manager its 100% CPU
The process is System running at 100%
I have got all the updates of Windows Update.
I have done an online Virus Scan and pics up nothing
I have done a normal Scan with another virus manufacturer
nothing.
I have also check for all Adware and there is nothing.

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME.

I can get into Safe Mode fine. I know its got do with Spk4
I have re-installed spk4. Didnt make a difference.
I have read up on this issue, and I heard Microsoft has a
hotfix for this issue, but you have to pay for it. I dont
see why I have to pay for it, if its the spk4 fault.

I also read that, you can break down the system process by
using pcviewer but I cant use my w2k CD as it wont work in
SafeMode to install the tools on it.

Please can someone help me and tell me, what I can do
about this issue. I also read it could be an incompatible
driver, but my device driver is fine.
Please help me.

Can

Try this:
Seen at several PC's now.
MS04-011 (835732), one of the April 2004 patches, causes long
term high CPU load for either IEXPLORE.EXE and/or explorer.exe
when browing the Internet.
Removal of the patch via Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove
Programs solves the problem.

I found the patch that was causing my machine to slow down.
KB835732. Would there be a reason for this.
I had to remove every patch and then try it, one by one.
That patch caused the symptons below.
This is to help others in this situation

Thanks Walter

for your help.
I wished i got this before I started going through each
patch.

Thanks for your help bro.
Its spot on info.

It seems the patch works fine on some PC's and not on others.
So, it seems to be related to something specific on those PC's.
Today I installed the patch again, separate from anything else
and noticed the high CPU usage of IEXPLORE.EXE is even generated
when just moving the mouse over the Favorites content (when
opened at the left side of the main IE window). You even see the
slow "highlight" response of the Favorite items.

Maybe to see a relation:
The PC I see the problem is all up to date (SP4 and all MS
Updates..except KB835732..)
I use Network Associates (McAfee) VirusScan v4.5.1 SP1
Latest Sun Java is installed
Have a Logitech USB mouse attached.
And..much more other software (nothing very special to my
opinion).

Hi,

PLEASE.....

I have a WIN2K Proffessional and am a Java Student.

I want to know how to control the exzecution
of the Suns java virtual machine on my PC.

By control means that I donot want any application and
user be able
to use the JVM .

Could u please tell me how to Manually prevent WINDOWS
from allowing
execution of any Java enabled programs and later on allow
its
execution.
Thanks in advance ..
thank u,
