Slipstreaming XP Installation

Hey all,

I'm looking to create a slipstreamed Windows XP Installation CD, that
will install Windows XP, SP2 and all the latest Updates. I know getting
an XP SP2 CD is easy enough, but what about the updates? I've heard
conflicting stories of whether or not this can be done, and a couple of
hour's Google work doesn't make it any clearer. Even if tehre is *not*
a way to do this, is there a reliable way of creating an unattended
install, which will then (unattanded) go and install all of the latest
updates from the 'Net?

Any alternative suggestions wlecomed, if neither of these plans are any
good...

TIA,
DSt.

There is an excellent article describing how to
preinstall hotfixes here:
http://oem.microsoft.com/script/contentpage.aspx?PageID=556118

However, you will have to take a moments to
register in order to gain access.

nLite........Easiest, way less complicated method.......

Go here & grab all the individual updates.....Yes you have to download
each one & it may be a little inconvenient but *WELL* worth it in the
end.........

This all providing, I'm assuming, you have a full retail CD? I honestly
have never touched OEM's, proprietary restore CD's & stuff like that so
maybe someone else can validate if nLite works on those.....I have no
clue.

nLite works just fine with generic OEM installation CDs - the ones
with only the Microsoft name and logo on them.

I've Slipstreamed OEM (specifically Dell) XP disks/i386 folders &
it will work if you use the /Integrate qualifier on the command line
when incorporating the Service Pack/Hotfix.

Thank you, preciate the info....... ;0)

I paid Microsoft $35 and they could't do it(got a refund, all they did
was recommend a web site), I went to several recommended web sites and
I still couldn't slipstream using those sites, but nlite worked after
I downloaded .net to my computer. I sent them a donation. It worked
great. Thanks for the recommendation

Trust me, I am not suprised with your MS ordeal............ ;0)

I'm happy it worked out for ya.......Just goes to show ya that sometimes
the best things are *free*..........I used to do all slipstreams through
the commands options you basically find on the net, I found nLite and
thought I went to slipstream heaven.....He, He....... ;0)

My attempts kept giving me error messages on the usual website
options. I downloaded .net (which was done easily on the same site)
and then chose my options and bing, it worked. I went to my folder
and clicked on setup and it was just like I had bought a new copy of
XP Pro. I laughed at your "heaven" remark.

Thanks again
