I have created a slide show, and am using the Fade Through
Black transition with a slow speed. I really want the
transition speed to be much slower though. Does anyone
know of any way that this can be done?
Thanks!

If you're using PPT 2002 (aka PPT XP) or 2003, you can control the speed
of the transition. You cannot do this in earlier versions.

Ummm....

Echo, on my version of PowerPoint 2002, I only have fast, medium, and slow
settings for transitions. Animations, on the other hand, are a whole
'nother ballgame.

A way around this is to fade thru black, but insert a large black cover box
over the entire next slide. Then make the first animation to have the black
box fade very slowly.

It is possible that I am mistaken, well ... more like probable.

Oops, that sounds right, B. I was thinking there was a way to stretch that
transition time out, but I'm probably thinking of animation. (Don't have
2002 in front of me to check, but I'm pretty sure you're correct.) Thanks
for the cleanup!

Hello Leila,

PowerPoint only allows you to specify slow, medium or fast for each slide
transition effect.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) thinks that is important for
PowerPoint to provide more control over the speed of transition effects (or
any other specific transition suggestions), don't forget to send your
feedback to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
