I am using PP 2002. My slide thumbnails in the slide sorter and normal views
are blank. In some cases the background effect applied was the custom color
fill effect. This is not visible on the thumbnails nor is anything else
visible, just a small icon that says "no title" when you rest the mouse
cursor on it.

How do I make these thumbnails viewable?

It's not a hardware problem. I have a classroom of students creating these
presentations yet the problem exisits only with this one presentation.

Was the PPT created in an older version of PowerPoint? Do the classroom
computers have the current PPT updates?

One presentation that may happen to trigger a hardware problem where others
don't, possibly.

It only takes a few seconds to try Luc's suggestion.
You can't possibly know that it won't help until you try it.

What Steve said.

Also, there's a "show formatting" button on the toolbar. Has two As on it.
Click it and see if that helps. I don't think it will, but it's another one
of those that takes only a second to try.

Thanks Steve, I tried that too, no go.

Since this is a reply to Echo's suggestion, I'm not sure quite what you've tried
so far. Both the hardware acceleration setback and the formatting button?

:

Sandy,
Try turning down hardware acceleration and updating your video drivers.
