Slide Show functionality in "My Pictures"

According to the instructions in the "Help and Support Center," there should
be something called "Picture Tasks" in "My Pictures" from where I can run a
slide show. I can't see anything that looks like "Picture Tasks."

Help?!

The Picture Tasks pane should be on the left side
of your My Pictures window.

Is your My Pictures window open full screen?

If you open a folder and go to...Tools / Folder Options /
General tab...be sure that..."Show common tasks in
folders" is ticked...Apply / OK...

Also, if you see your file tree in the left pane of your
My Pictures folder...left click your "Folders" button
on your task bar to open the Picture Tasks pane.

If that all fails...try this, maybe it will restore the option:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"
