Try turning your mouse upside down - and see if it works. Where I live (for
work) in London, I'm living on the ground floor of a flat near Sloane
Square - because the tube station is near the surface, every time a train
goes by, it nudges my mouse slightly and wakes up my machine!!

I assume System. Scan the log. The wake up will not be the latest entry
since a number of events take place once the wakeup is triggered. I also
doubt that it will be an error message since the system is responding
appropriately to a program or process that has started, causing the wakeup.
I solved this problem by going to Control Panel, Device Manager, Network
Adapters. Open the device in Network Adapters and click on the Power
Management tab then uncheck all the Wake on LAN options.
Good Day Ern,
Thanks for your response. After working with HP, I finally ended up with a
tech that was also able to identify this issue (only three weeks ago).
I was pleased to hear that the service pack release in soon to be released,
hopefully resolviong some of the other issues that I have encountered with
Vista.
Regards,
