This program found in Sys32 dir is giving me problems. The problem is
that when I powerup the PC and get to the desktop, my internet
connection does the connection automatically. Also when I am doing just
PC things (quicken, word, works, etc) the server keeps trying to signon.
By process of elimination in the "Task Mgr", I have determined that the
file "SKSMAILD.EXE" is the culprit. I deleted it to the recycle bin and
everything seems to work OK, except on PC powerup, the system is looking
for the file during the powerup cycle and I just click the no block and
carry on. How can I find out what file to modify to prevent this
continuing.
Thanks

It could be malware, but doesn't have to be.

To remove its loading from the registry, click Start, Run, type REGEDIT,
click OK. Press the Home key, press F3, type the name of the file into
the search pane. Click "Find Next", and when located, delete the
reference to the file. Press F3 to continue the search.

You can click File, Export, and save the entry to the Desktop. If you
remove it and there's a problem, double-click the .reg file you exported
to the Desktop and it'll be added to the registry again. You can create
a restore point before editing the registry too.
