Skipping the log on screen

I'm new to XP and I want to set up my laptop to skip the
Welcome screen or the log on screen and boot up directly
to my desktop. Is there a way to do that? Thanks in
advance for the help.
 
Start | Run "control userpasswords2" (no quotes) and click OK. Uncheck the
box that says "Users must enter a user name and password..." and follow the
prompts. Your system will now boot straight to the desktop :-)
 
The logon screen will still be displayed doing that, it just won't prompt for
a password and he didn't want that screen displayed period. At least I think
that was what he wanted.
