Sizing or Moving Objects in Powerpoint 2003 Causes Close Event

My installation has been working for some time, but now I'm having problems.
I couldn't identify a change which may have happened that may have caused
this problem. The problem is that whenever I attempt to resize or move any
object, PowerPoint immediately closes. There is no warning, saving of the
file, nothing. The process is completely closed. I have applied all Office
and XP updates, uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2003 and then reapplied
patches, but the problem still exists. I have no idea what else to do, other
than completely blow everything away and rebuild the entire system, which is
much too time consuming. Can someone please tell me where to look?????

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the Critical
Update or Service Pack 1 for Office 2003 as soon as possible. From
PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for Updates".]

Hello,

We have seen this symptom reported under the following conditions:

1) Using PowerPoint 2003
2) On Windows XP - Service Pack 2
3) Conflicting 3rd party service or application running (for example, Cisco
Security Agent, version ???)

To verify whether this is caused by some conflicting 3rd party service, use
the System Configuration Utility (MSCONFIG.EXE) Diagnostic statup and
Selective Startup modes to see, under which configurations the problem
persists or goes away.

If it is caused by a conflicting service or application, it would be great
if you could share the results of your testing with the rest of the
community by posting your findings to the newsgroup.
