hello all,

my pst file(outlook2000) getting huge (1,8 GB) and i try to reduce it by archive old e-mail's in several pst files. But after archived, the size of prior pst file still 1,8 GB...
Any suggestion for this?

thank's before for the assistance...
rgds,
den.

after you archive, purge, delete, or whatever you do get rid of items +
empty the deleted items folder... right click on personal folders and select
properties > advanced > compact now and be prepared to wait a while if you
removed a lot of items. ;)

I'm assuming you can see it in Outlook.
Right click on the PST file from Outlook, select
Properties.
On the general tab, click Advanced.
Click Compact Now.

As you noticed even if you move things to other folders,
it still shows the original size until it is compacted.

Compacting may take some time, especially at that size.
