Hi
This stupid problem of Microsoft's drives me mad too. This
is what I have done to fix it. But because Microsoft
writes such shi**y software, it will sooner or later go
back to being a problem.
First, open an explorer window. This is probably near full
size of the screen.
Second, click on the restore button - the middle of the
top right three of the window, so the explorer window
reduces to its small, but not minimised size.
Now, wave the mouse over a corner, until it changes to a
double-headed arrow. Click on the edge, and move it around
until you have stretched the window to full screen.
Now click back on the restore button. Since the window is
already full screen, it will hardly move. Keep clicking,
so the window keeps changing from maximised to your
stretched, big size. Somehow this changes some setting in
the registry.
Now open a link in the window, by right clicking and
selecting "Open link in a new window"
Repeat the process of stretching the window to full size.
Close the window by clicking on the explorer icon in the
top left of the window, and choosing "X Close". Also close
the original window the same way. (I used to think it was
necessary to press the shift key at the same time, but it
seems to work without it.)
That should work, but some web page designers, set the
size of their web pages, which you can't easily change.
Another useful trick. Right click your internet exporer
icon and choose properties. In the "Run" box,
select "maximised". Then, at least your first IE window
will always open full screen size.
Hope this helps.
