the icons on my taskbar used to be small and the ones on my desktop were just a little bit bigger w/the type under them large enough to comfortably read. My son did something, and I have no idea what, and now the icons on my taskbar are very large and the ones on my desktop as well as the text underneath them are VERY small and hard to read. How can I get them back like they were before?

1) Right-click an empty area on the desktop and select
"Properties" from the menu that'll pop up.(*) This will bring up
the "Display Properties" control panel.

2) Pick the 4th tab, "Appearance", and click the "Advanced"
button. Yet another window will pop up.

3) From the drop-down list, select "Icon" (or is it "Symbol"?).
Adjust icon size and font size to whatever you want. Note that
icons will probably look cleanest at sizes 16, 32 or 48.

4) The size of taskbar icons seems to depend on the size of window
title bars and/or the title bar buttons (i.e. 'close',
'maximize'...), so adjust those too and see what happens.

Hope that helped.

(*) Or type "desk.cpl" at a command prompt. Or take the prescribed
detour: Start Menu -> Control Panels -> Appearance and Themes ->
Change the computer's theme.
