"size" in from column

Why do I sometimes see "size=XXX" (where XXX is a number, sometimes 4 digits)
in the FROM column of outlook's mail listing? This seems to happen only with
mail sent from CDO directly to my mindspring.com mailbox.

That information is controlled by the sender. The information outside of
the <...> in the From is treated as the sender's friendly name. You'll
notice that I've done exactly the same thing on this message. Now, if your
sender isn't doing it deliberately, like I did, then something probably on
their machine or their mail router put it there. It's not your problem.
 
The "sender" is a website using MS's CDO object. When the message is sent
first to a Verio mailbox (pagepartpartners) and then forwarded to Mindspring
(Earthlink) it comes across OK, as if Verio cleaned up the message somehow.
Only when the message is sent to EarthLink directly is there a problem.

I guess the question is, what could the CDO object possibly do to put this
as the friendly name? (Perhaps this is better for the CDO group...)
