for some reason when i go to load up certain programs, my screen blacks out
then goes onto the simplest colour scheme on the computer (i think it only
has 16 colours or something like that) and a pop-up comes up saying something
along these lines: {the display driver has stopped working properly because
SiSGRV.dll isn't responding please reboot to restore your computer}

if anyone knows about this or has had it and fixed it can you help me?
thanks

p.s i think there is a way to replace or update the 'SiSGRV.dll' file if
that helps.

A Google search on sisgrv turned up this and more information.

Shel - do you have the latest drivers for your Sis chipset? Are the drivers
certified by MS as compatible with XP? Its best not to use uncertified
drivers, unless you really know what you're doing. I would look for the
newest possible drivers for the hardware, check to see if they are MS
approved, and install them. On older hardware, a BIOS update from your
motherboard manufacturer may also help.

Good luck!
