Hi, I'm trying to plot my weight over time but have been unable to set this
up in Excel as a single line graph. Can anybody help? TIA

Put the dates in A1:A25 (or whatever) and the weights in B1:B25
Seelct A1:B25 with the mouse, clcik on the chart wizard in toolbar
Select XY chart with markers and lines
If this does not work come back with more detail.

I've entered the dates weekly in row 1 starting at 10 Jan in b1 & weight in
lbs in col a starting at 190 in a2 descending to 160. I've entered my weight
numerically in each weekly column at the corresponding weight row. When I
select the chart wizard & line with markers displayed at each data value.
The problem is each weight row is shown as a separate data row. The date x
axis is ok but weight y axis is shown as 0 to 200 not 190 to 160. What am I
doing wrong?

Instead of entering each weight on a separate line, enter each week's
weight directly below the date, in row 2.

Delete column A, which contains the weight range.

Your revised table should look similar to the following:

1/10/03 1/17/03 1/24/03
190 188 186

Select these cells, and use the Chart Wizard to create a line chart.

Thanks Debra, that worked a treat :-)
