Simplest way to enable custom notifications in XP ?

Hi,
I want to use notifications. For example - some dialog pops up + some sound
is played, when certain time arrives. What is the simplest way to implement
in windows XP ?

You could use the Outlook calendar.
 
My calender has alarms 4 appointments or
use task scheduler.
