I often like to arrange ideas.

Therefore I look for a small prog where keywords simply kan be put in
(automatic) frames.

Those frames should then be possible to rearrange by drag and drop.

Is there anything out there like that?

Morgan,
I often like to arrange ideas.
Those frames should then be possible to rearrange by drag and drop.

They are not in frames per se, but Sudden View allows you to move ASCII
words, sentences, lines or paragraphs around like magnetic letters on
your refrigerator. And it can all be done using only mouse drags and
clicks - no menus to deal with. And it's unlimited shareware.
Is there anything out there like that?

Let me know if it works out.

Hmmm. "Small prog" you say? Freemind comes in two install flavors, 3Mb
& 8Mb (depending on what options you want available). Not sure if
that's "small."

It is a java-based graphical mind-mapping s/w. It's gpl'd and pretty
much OS-agnostic. Current version (0.80) was released in Sep '05.
Although pre-release, it has been stable for my moderately complex maps...

Not sure what you mean by "frames" but you could look at:

Treepad : www.treepad.com

There was also two programs: IPoetry (aka Instant Poetry, author Mike
Sennett) and RQWords. These are virtual versions of those magnetic poetry
kits that let you compose poems with random words that you can then edit and
/ or drag around.

Unfortunately, the original sites for these programs seem to have
disappeared. Maybe a Google hunt will turn them up. . .
