This worksheet has 5 columns of numbers when the columns are added =sum
formula to add down it always returns on a 1 as the sum total and not add the
entire column.

What is it doing and how do I fix it. Is it something global.

Please do NOT type in all caps and please don't ask for a fast answer. All
questions get equal billing.
And, please fully describe your problem with examples.
Could it be that you have calculation set to automatic?

Columns A B C D E

10 1 7 4 11
10 5 7 5 12
10 4 7 3 14
1 4 4 2 17
1 4 8 4 18
0 7 5 2 9
=SUM(A1:A5) ECT... =SUM(A7:E7)

Just include the cell reference along with the letter

Please explain what that is - set to automatic??

I figured it out. Tools, Option, Edit Enable, Auto Complete - needed disabled.
Thanks.

I don't think auto complete has anything to do with this, more likely either
calculation was set to manual under tools>options>calculation or the values
are/were text
