Hello,

I want a cell (E1) to function as a clock. I configured the cell, i
displays the time. But it only recalculates after I do somethin
myself. How can I make it function on its own, i.e. change after eac
second?

hi copycollie,
Would highly recommend that you do not tie up Excel by turning
Excel into an expensive clock, and for that matter it will not be as current as
the clock on the taskbar. Even though you are not looking at
that worksheet, you would have Excel update that clock every
second.

See http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/datetime.htm#clock

You can go to NIST and pick up a tool to update your clock to the
current time regardless of what clock you do end up using.

I would suggest instead enhancing your taskbar clock
with Dale Nurden's TClockEx
http://www.rcis.co.za/dale/

I customize to only show the time hh:mm:ss A/P on my taskbar
but hovering over the clock, I can see the date, actually
R'KB RAM avail ' L'%memory load,' ddd MM/dd/yyyy (DDD/365) 'CPU='C'%'

next year is a leap year, so you would have to modify. Actually on my
system CPU isn't really showing properly, you'd have to go to the
Task Manager for that.

PLEASE, please, in the future use a subject that describes your
request so that people looking for answers or wanting to provide
better answers know what the actual subject is. Single word
subjects, and the words "simple", "problem", "urgent", "Excel",
as well as those that repeat words that are part of the newsgroup
name do not describe the problem. You could of course search
the newsgroup archives yourself for answers and you would tend
to look at items that have descriptive subjects, and a portion of
text that best matches what you want to find out about.

Thnx for your help,

& I will try to be more clear the next time.

Regards,

Copycollie.
