Simple Message

Hi!
I have eventually succedded in setting up a home Lan 2 Computers.
Is there a way to send a simple message to the other computer?
I mean a message window will pop up on the other computer.

It's been a long time but what I think your referring to is broadcast
messaging,
Or you could use AIM, or windows Messenger, which will also allow you to
move files without sharing folders, Just my opinion,

Maybe someone can add to this.

Bahri,

Assuming that the other computers don't have the Messenger service (NOT Windows
Messenger!) disabled, "net send * This is my message" will cause "This is my
message" to pop up on all other computers in your broadcast domain. If you want
to be selective, "net send TargetComputer This is my message" will put the same
message on the screen of a computer named TargetComputer.

Unfortunately, Microsoft, following the lead of Mr Stealth, Steve Gibson,
disables the service when Service Pack 2 is applied. So you may have to re
enable it.
