I recently brought lap computer and have a desktop connected to Linksys
Router. Have Windows xp Share my files and computer between both computers
and have one printer shared too! Printer work only with destop computer
now?? Not with Laptop! Files to print are a waiting to print?? But if I take
Usb cord and put in to laptop it prints! So in other words Not sharing?
Have to swap cord to printer WHY?? Help!

A lot of things to check:

1) Make sure that both PCs are on the same Workgroup. Try running "Network
Wizard.."

2) Check and change the firewall service as needed so as to allow "file/print
sharing"

You responded to my question on printer! Can you help me more. Am new with
networks! Never done this before! Had a Circuit City Geek come set up! Now
cant run one computer with printer!
Lap top computer -Printer is problem??

Main Computer is desktop Workgroup Icon on desktop -Called Shortcut to
work group- When i click on it there is only one Picture of Couter named
Lorraine mlost3?
Lap top Work group shortcut Icon there too!
Called Shortcut to work group-When i click on Laptop computer There are two
cmputer Icon One same as above and other DickComputer? Clicking on both
computer icons on this computer brings same files but in Dick - and
Lorraine

Check and change the firewall service as needed so as to allow "file/print
sharing" . How??
Firewall is McAfee Internet Security and Microsoft Firewall too- On desktop
Laptop has Nortons Internet Security and Mircrosoft Firewall too
