simple dvd drive question

dose my dvd drive also act as a cd drive,and if so can i put a cdrw into my
dvd drive then and copy files to my cd-rw drive. thanks for your time and
info folks

Yes, you should be able to. The only sure way to find out is to try it
though.

Yes, a DVD drive can read CDs and CD-RW discs. It cannot write to a CD-RW
though, only a CD-RW drive can do that.

Any DVD drive will be able to read CDs. Some, but not all, DVD drives
are eqipped as CD-R/RWs also. If the literature describing your drive
says that it will write CDs, then you're all set. If it doesn't
mention this capability, then you'll need to find something else to
write CDs with.
