I have a kid that downloaded a piece or graphic art to the desktop, he does
not know how he did it or what (special ed kid) but it is "stuck" on the
desktop, can not bel clicked, dragged opr deleted, if you change the desktop
background that clipart stays put on the desktop, but if Word is open it does
not interfere with active applications. How do I get rid of this?

Also, the computer is set for a restricted account, but somehow he has
downloaded and installed some applications, I did not think this could be
done, can I somewhere specify that exe files not be installed, MP3's not be
downloaded or copied to the computer, or pictures downloaded, (some were
questionable) without admin intervention?

Sorry for the stupid questions...............

Try disabling Active Desktop. Disabling Active desktop should only allow
..bmp files to be displayed as wallpaper.

You need to make sure the account is only a restricted account. If you are
experiencing problems with installing programs, you can deny that account
write access to the Program Files folder. This will allow programs to be
run, but not installed to this directory. Be sure to not deny the admin
account access to this directory.

thank you, I will check active dt tomorrow, and see if the account has been
changed. For the priv's, you are talking about file and sharing > security >
change permissions there or in the advanced? What in advanced should I set?
