When using special fonts in a signature, if that font does not exist on the
recipient's computer, Outlook uses some other font, often something not even
loosely resembling the original. Is there any way to embed the font or some
other way to force Outlook to display the original font?

William, Fonts are programs. You are probably not licensed to distribute
that code. Further, many folks don't want them.

Chuck, how on earth did such an innocuous question like mine generate such a
threatening, unfriendly response like yours? In MS Word it's possible to
embed True Type fonts; I only wondered if there was some obscure way of
doing so with Outlook signatures.

I, for one, don't see any threats in Chuck's message, only statements of
fact. Fonts are, for the most part, proprietary and must be licensed to
use. Microsoft's inclusion of many fonts with Windows doesn't change that.
Moreover, many people don't want extraneous fonts on their PCs, since it
takes system resources to make them available for use. "TrueType" is a
format and has no bearing on whether or not a font can be transferred to
another person. You can purchase fonts from many font foundries in TrueType
or other formats. Some places offer freely distributable fonts. You should
know where you found the one you want to embed. Check with the source to
see if it's legal to do so.
