When I start the PC i get nothing on the screen except a message stating "no
signal input or cable disconnect". I have verified that the screen and cable
are fine by using them with another PC. I have also varified that the
graphics card is fine by using it in another PC.

I have taken out all other cards and CD drives etc to be left with a MoBo
(Asus A7A 266), hard drive, power supply and the graphics card. I am using
the AGP slot............

Is it likely that the MoBo has failed or are there any other things that
could cause the the error message (perhaps the power supply?)

Thanks,

Mark

Probably not the motherboard. Have you tried a different video card in it?
I've had this happen before. I haven't really come up with a reason or a real
solution but...

Try a few different video cards in the mobo.
Remove the power and battery for a while to reset the mobo.
After enough tinkering they usually come back.

It's not the card as originallly posted it works fine in the other PC. I
have also noted that the failure is BEFORE I am able to get into the BIOS.

The only time I ever had this happen was when the video card was touching
the metal case. You might want to make sure that it isn't touching metal.
