Sidewinder game pad

I have no place to plug in my Sidewinder game pad on my
new PC. Is there an adapter available to plug into a USB
port or something?
 
No, there are adapters available but they invariably don't work. The
gamepad doesn't contain the correct data that a USB port needs to know what
is connecting to it.

Solution #1
Purchase a separate soundcard with a gameport controller and use that
or
Solution #2
Purchase a new gamepad with a USB port
