Sidebar going back to default setup.

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate and have saved gadgets to my Sidebar.
After months of using Vista all of a sudden the Sidebar goes back to what it
was when I originially installed Vista. I have lost all my customizations.
Does anyone know how to get it back?
 
With explorer set to show hidden AND system files/folders,

Navigate to:

C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar

right-click the 'settings.ini' file, select 'Properties', then the 'Previous
Versions' tab. You may be able to restore the file that had your
customizations.
