Shutting down xp

upgraded from win 98 and now when i shut down the
computer i have to manually turn it off. in win 98 it
shut off automatically. Any ideas??

From Control Panel> Power Options> Advanced tab. If the options are not
available you may need to enable acpi in the bios or possibly update the
bios. Check the computer or motherboard manuufacturer for updates.
