Has anybody had an issue with shutting down WinXP Pro,
receiving the msg "Windows is currently working with a
file." I am running into this issue often. When I check
the task mgr, it is showing that there arent any tasks
running. I also confirmed that the AutoEndTasks, Value
1, is entered in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
in the regestry. Please help!

You might want to run a virus scan. Make sure your antivirus software is up
to date and then scan your system. If clear of viruses, try using Ad Aware
to check for spyware on your system. www.lavasoftusa.com

Do you have AVI files around, especially using the DivX codec? When you
open a folder of such files, Explorer goes into each looking for extra
info for details/properties (eg resolution; frame rate; artist. . . )
and can get hung in it. This makes the files impossible to delete and
might also have that result.

Start - Run - regedit.exe, open to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shellex\PropertyHandler

Highlight it, File - Export (so you could easily import it back) and
delete it. That will prevent you getting the extra info, but if it
cures hangups is worth it
